Blue field

As part of our Shipping and Chartering, one of the main reasons that Rhodium is able to trade efficiently is that it provides freight services to the commodity trading teams. It is a key component of the seamless trade ecosystem and Rhodium’s BlueField is the latest entry into shipping and chartering and the desk is closely integrated with the trade system to guarantee the same.

BlueField enters shipping at a historically interesting shipping asset values. This move is a stragtegic decision to buy when Vessel prices are fair and there is no asset price bubble. As cargo owners, the availability of anchor cargo required for our initial ship purchases is also an advantage. It puts BlueField at a strategic advantange and provides our traders with a unique insight into the freight markets and stand to benefit in the process. BlueField’s core team is very experienced and many of them have a long history of successfully working together.

BlueField also has the best in class network of owners, brokers, bankers and chartering.

As part of Rhodium’s on going strategy we have invested into own ships to enhance our physical trading activities. We plan in the future partner warehouses and storage facilities, operate truck and barge fleets, buy ships and develop associated support systems and whatever it takes - to secure the best trade flow practices and management for the future.

Our technical management teams are best in class in the business and through this expertise; we aim to get maximum performance from each vessel invested. Rhodium Investments Acquisition for 2017 plans are poised for 3 Supramax/ Kamsarmx vessels by the first half of 2017 and two more by end of 2017. Partnerships with German pre-eminent vessel owners and partners further enhance Rhodium Investment’s reputation in the shipping Market.

We are geared for this growth and we are now positioned at an advantage by entering into ship owning through this effective decision that creates automatic hedge against RR’s freight requirement. It is not speculative but more creating better opportunities for the group as such.
